About Me
Hi, I'm Lindsay! Once upon a time, I worked in an office. I know many of you work in offices, and you probably love your jobs, but I wasn’t among you. I’m pretty sure that dull-gray cubical wall was stealing my soul, one breath at a time. The best part of my day was going home and making from-scratch meals with my husband. We never did anything the easy way — instead of buying sausage, we ground our own from pork shoulder, and recipes that called for bread or tortillas always took longer than they should to complete.
One day, quit my day job, enrolled in culinary school, and worked my way up to become the chef at a farm-to-table restaurant. I cultivated relationships with local farmers to grow crops for the restaurant, and I wrote weekly specials featuring seasonal farm-fresh fruits and vegetables. I grew passionate about celebrating seemingly ordinary ingredients — the seasonal foods that grow around you — and blending flavors from various cultures to create delicious dishes. There’s something really special about crafting meals that celebrate your region’s unique offerings.
I had so much knowledge from my culinary education and years as a professional chef, so I decided to take on the role of an educator. I picked up the pen and began freelance writing. My initial work was in recipe development, and I eventually worked my way to product testing and food writing. I love to write articles that help home cooks become more confident in their own kitchens.
As time went on, I took my writing skills to the next level. I began offering ghostwriting and editing services. I specialize in helping people shape projects into polished works, bringing out the best in every writer so their voice shines brightly on the page.
I’m currently a food writer at Taste of Home. I’m open to chatting about editing opportunities and select ghostwriting projects. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!
